Congratulations to the Albertson USSF 18's and 16's on again both making the USSF playoffs later this month in Dallas. The teams are the only teams from New York to qualify for the 32-team playoffs -- capping yet another year in which our teams were the best in the state. Moreover, the USSF 18's had the fourth-highest point total among the 80 teams in the Development Academy, and the 16's had the sixteenth-highest point total. The 18's finished the regular season at 16-1-8 (only one loss), with 55 goals scored and only 16 allowed (the second fewest goals-allowed total in the Academy); the 16's were 15-6-4, with 52 goals scored and 29 allowed. What's even more impressive is that the vast majority of the other top teams in the Academy have the benefit of being a farm team of a professional (Major League Soccer) organization.

Noted below are the teams with the 18 highest point totals in the U18 bracket:

1. NY Red Bulls (pro team)

2. Baltimore Bays (Md.)

3. PDA (N.J.)

4. Albertson SC (NY)

5. Shattuck-Saint Mary's Soccer Academy (full time school/soccer academy in Minnesota)

6. LA Galaxy (pro team)

7. Real Salt Lake (pro team)

8. Vancouver Whitecaps (pro team)

9. DC United (pro team)

10. FC Dallas (pro team)

11. Indiana Fire (Ind.)

12. Solar (Tex.)

13. New England Revolution (pro team)

14. Weston FC (Fla.)

15. Seattle Sounders (pro team)

16. Houston Dynamo (pro team)

17. CASL (NC)

18. Chicago Magic (pro team)

Congratulations to the boys, the coaches, and the Club, and good luck in the playoffs.
